A friend of a friend of Lourdes is the Karting and Touring Car champion of Peru (also competed in World Challenge and Porsche Supercup in 2012) who was able to set me up with a track day on the new karting circuit at Autodromo La Chutana using a EVR Tony Kart chassis with a Yamaha KT100 engine, top speed of around 75 mph at this course

This Mustang was testing at the adjacent car circuit for the 6 Horas Peruanas being held at the facility next month

Look for the Gym Dandies tomorrow in the inaugural parade.  They are in the middle of the third, Navy, division.  Jon will be on one of the three 36 inch "big wheel" unicycles.    If you are interested in updates follow Gym Dandies on Facebook.  The parade will be covered on many channels.  The parade is at 2pm.  I'm not sure which channel to check.  CNN Inernational and CSPAN have it listed. Check out all the news channels.  Some may only show the beginning of the parade.

Oliver spent today driving a Ski Whiz around the yard. He did very well with the bigger snowmobile.

Skip Barber Racing School

On January 28-30 I completed the Skip Barber 3-day formula car racing school, which qualifies me for an SCCA competition license. The cars were very impressive to say the least and were fantastic for driving aggressively and learning the dynamics of trail-brake rotation and trailing throttle oversteer. The sequential gearbox allows you to upshift with a throttle lift and no clutch, the downshifts were done with the clutch and heel-toe, but without the H-pattern I could perform these instantaneoulsly. The majority of the 13 other students were teenagers who currently race karts, legends cars, and quarter midgets around the country and of these students one was faster than I was (I wish I was completing this course at their age).
