Water over the boards on both dams on Stillwater Reservoir

Thursday, April 28, 2011

Since there has been a lot of discussion about our trip to California, I thought it was important to write a dossier on the area. Remember, while in California it is important that we respect their culture and traditions no matter how much they differ from our own.

Easter in Maine, Walk on Beach, Moose near Inlet

Picture on camera.

Cat

Cyndy broke my camera, this is where it started to work again.

Vettel. Infiniti put a sticker on it and called it theirs.

Cadillac World Challenge car. The spinney stage microphone guy had a rough time talking about it. Said they will catch up to Porsche mid-season (on account of the AWARDS ballast), but Porsche will still have Pat Long.

Dempsey racing.

Fiat on the wall. The Fiat's were one of the few highlights of the show. I don't need to see or hear about another hybrid again.

New Lotus Esprit, it is big and fat like a Lamborghini. I guess EJ Viso and Jimmy Vasser were there the day before to launch it. We did see Simona and J Wil.

Everybody loves Gulf Blue this year.

Hipster hotel room.

It had a record player, here Cyndy has a KEXP record, Phil style.

View from room. Remember when New York was the Empire State, I don't.

I posted a comment about car colors on Noah's new blog and it got eaten, so I am trying again here.

I agree that brown and champagne colored cars are hideous.

Blue is nice, but I got tired of it years ago. Growing up, all our cars were blue, except the Land Rover which didn't come in blue

I love gray and we got our 1st gray car when they were hard to find.

The choice in car colors is now sadly limited, especially in the otherwise wonderful Subaru's. And why can't I buy a Forester in forest green?

It goes without saying that red is fabulous.

In he 50's there were a few Melon colored cars around- sort of the color of a creamsicle, are they gone, too? Lovely, but not seen in 50 years.

Paul and Cameron helped me start my automobile blog tonight. NoahsMotoringGarage. maybe Paul can make a link to it on the family blog. I hope to post at least once per week. Paul showed me how to start the layout. Cameron came up with the final name. NoahsGarage is actually taken by somebody in Hillsdale, NY.

Drove the Fiat to Livingston, NY today. Delivered it to the new owner. 55 mile trip on back roads of Rensselear and Columbia counties. It was a great trip. I am going to miss that car.
