September 28-29, Donnie will be there. This year they will have rallymoto as well. I read that PT and Neil Micklewright got in a big argument over PT running out of fuel. Also, Matos won the Atlantic Championship and a ride in Champ Car next year. Simpsons movie gets an F.

Jos the Boss to Champ Car rumor Volume 7 Series 4. http://f1.gpupdate.net/en/news/2007/07/29/verstappen-linked-with-champcar/

Oliver and I went to Lebanon Valley sunday for the drag races. The car count was very low. Not sure what is going on there. It was still fun as I hadn't been there in some time. There were two Civics running low 10's. Also a female driver in an EVO 8 running low 16's, not sure if she had driven a standard before. Also a 350Z that ran a 12.11 with a very slow start. He had to be making HUGE HP. I think he came off the line easy and used a big shot of nitrous. That was the extent of "modern" cars though. mostly Novas and Camaros.
I did not see all of the Champ Car race. From what I saw in the first half I cannot figure out how Doornbos was in a position to win.
The Truck and Busch races at IRP (now ORP) were both very good. Tim McCreadie finished 12th in the Childress 31 Camping World car.

Yes, it is that small.

I thought maybe I would trade the EVO in for something more practical. This is Roger Penske's lastest business adventure. His United Auto Group is signing up Dealers for the 2008 release of the Smart ForTwo. It looks like Keeler has signed up already. They had about 8 of them there today and I went up and drove this orange one. It has a 3 cylinder Mitsubishi engine. The transmisssion is horrible. The shifts are very slow and harsh. The car pauses then lurches between each gear change. The interior is base model Kia quality.
Ironicaly somebody had this DeLorean parked there. Also remember Keeler sold the AM General Hummer also.
In other news The Eckerd changed the sign to Rite Aid yesterday. The old fence place between Pizza Hut and CHP is being torn down and British American is building an office building.

I agree with Joel's comments on the Petersen/Enge situation. It is to bad a good driver is out of a good ride. On Speedtv.com they are saying TRG will run a Busch car with Andy Lally driving.
Get that kid off my car!

Noah
Oliver working on an aero upgrade for the second half of the autocross season for Noah's #1AS Mitsubishi, slower than an S2000, Evo.

Lewis County Fair

Donnie had a great time.

So did Cyndy.

Ambiance from the demolition derby paddock.

My first time to the fair. I give it an A for not too much time wasted and good food. I give Robin Miller an F because it seems everyone of his SpeedTV stories has to be rewritten 24 hours after it is posted to reflect reality. Ryan Daziel will miss the CC race at San Jose because he fell off of his bicycle. He hadn't been drinking and Alex Tagliani wasn't riding on his handle bars a la PT last year.

Petersen/White Lightning Releases Tomas Enge

This is a shame, the Mid-Ohio battle between the 62 Ferrari and 31 Ferrari was the best of the year, which ended on a lap when prototypes were surrounding the GT2 battle that led to Salo brake checking Enge creating light contact, followed by Salo taking out Enge and himself a couple corners later. Up to this point of the year, Enge has established himself as the fastest GT2 driver, I hope he finds another ride in American racing.

Today I took part in the annual Adirondack Loon census between 8:00a.m.-9:00a.m. on Stillwater Reservoir. With the help of others we counted 16 adult Loons and no chicks. There were at least 4 chicks, 2 weeks ago. While counting Loons we saw 3 mature American Bald Eagles. One of the eagles would perch in a tree on the shore and then fly low over the water. I think the eagles killed the Loon chicks.

This afternoon we went to the Lewis County Fair with Paul and Cyndy (yes, Noah we missed you and your family). We had a final "Smokey Bones" meal and told him to enjoy his retirement, even though we will miss this high point of the fair. Donnie and I had the classic pulled pork sandwich and Cyndy had chicken- Paul had a "smokey pie", pulled pork on nachos with barbecue sauce and sour cream. He is going to be looking for Noah to recreate this. We bought a jar of his sauce. We also bought bok choy at the farmers market. Cooking suggestions? I rested before and after the fair. It was a busy day.
Here are some picks for the weekend.
F1 Kimi
IRL Dixon
Champ Car Wilson 9
P1 1
P2 16
GT1 4
GT2 31
22 Panoz is still withdrawn
The GT2 Viper qualified 3 seconds off the GT2 class. I hope they race well and don't give up
DP 75 Krohn (Braun/Papis)
GT Curran 03
The Audi's have met thier match

Here are some recent photos. One is mini-golf in Rhode Island. Then Cameron's dance recital. Last is Paul enjoying some baseball and fried dough.
Some items from the local section. The Vanilla Bean will be closing all of its' and the bakery. There are not making money the owner's say. Instead of closing Bellevue hosp. in Niskayuna. The state is having Ellis hosp. take of control. It will still be a women's hosp.. Eckerd is now Rite-Aid. There is a large roll off dumpster in Slivinski's driveway and people have been filling it. Not sure what is happening there. I would hope this is the beginning of demolition. We had another water main break on thursday afternoon.

RHR to Rahal replacing Tony George's stepson or whatever. Luckily for EARL, this means that Milka Duno won't be rookie of the year.

ISC is kicking IRL out of Michigan, the second largest oval on the calander.

David Phillips had to write a recovery piece for Speed after Robin Miller made up all his information in the first article.

Conquest will stay one car for the rest of the season, there had been rumors that Halliday would return.

Bourdais will have his plans for next year by the end of the month.

There is no good way to get to Road America from here, unless someone knows of a boat from Lake Ontario to Sheboygan.

Sunday:
12:30-3:00pm F1 (European GP/SPEED, replay)
1:30-4:00pm IRL (Mid-Ohio/ABC, live)
2:00-4:00pm ALMS (Mid-Ohio/CBS, one-day delay, compressed)
3:00-5:00pm Champ Car (Edmonton/ESPN, live)
3:00-6:00pm Grand-Am (Barber/SPEED, one-hour delay)
5:00-6:00pm Moto GP (Laguna Seca/FOX)

These people wonder why their ratings are horrible. Everyone gets an F.
It is good to be home again. It has been very quiet on here so I assume everyone is busy with summer stuff. Today is a classic warm, rainy, summer day. I love it- a great day to read a good book. Speaking of which, how many of you are buying the new Harry Potter book on the 21st? And, who will lend it to me first?

Take a look at the ALMS website. GT2 Viper for Mid-Ohio. If this catches on. There will be no GT1 cars next year. I would assume Dodge is anticapating the Corvettes bowing out or moving to GT2 next year. Although it is a good way to sell more Viper race cars. They would be more "entry level" than a full out GT1 program. Is ALMS slowly becoming a 2 class series? I should have some photos from Lime Rock up soon.

Mandatory picture of the spikey haired Risi guy.

Gunnar!

Pink Whale car. They are carbon neutral and sponsored by windmills, so I felt much better about myself while watching them.

Car is broken.

Yay.

Emily and I went to the Monkey Jungle, still just as I remembered it. The monkeys were the best part, but they also have an Ape, Orangutans, Gibbons, Mandrills, Parrots, Lemurs & a Sloth.
